Hey Queens and Amazing Families!
Happy Black HerStory Month! This is our time to shine, to celebrate, and to honor the powerful, beautiful, and resilient Black women who paved the way for us. You know, history is cool and all, but herstory? That’s where the real magic is!

When I say ‘herstory,’ I’m talking about the stories of our sisters—past and present—who showed up, stood tall, and made sure the world felt their impact. From the fierce Harriet Tubman leading folks to freedom, to Maya Angelou showing us the power of our voice, to Serena Williams proving that Black girl magic is unbeatable on and off the court. These women are a part of our legacy, and guess what? So are you.
You are the next chapter of this story. You’re walking in the footsteps of greatness, but you’re also making your own path. Every time you stand up for yourself, every time you share your ideas, every time you show kindness and strength, you’re adding to Black HerStory.
And to all the parents, caregivers, and community members—thank you for nurturing these young queens, for teaching them to be proud of who they are, and for encouraging them to dream big. You are a vital part of this story, too. The support and love you pour into these girls is a foundation for their growth and success.
I want all of you to know that your voices matter. Your dreams matter. You matter. The world needs what only you can bring to it. So, take up space, sis. Be bold. Be brilliant. And if ever you doubt yourself, remember the queens who came before you—they had doubts too, but they kept going, and so will you.
This month, I challenge all of us—young and old—to learn about a new Black woman in history, support a Black-owned business, or even write your own story. Families, join in! Share your stories, celebrate your heritage, and show the young ones how deep our roots grow.
Keep shining, keep growing, and always remember: You are history in the making.
